Forest Management and Chain of Custody Certification: Cenibra - Celulose Nipo-Brasileira S.A. is certified in Forest Management and Chain of Custody FSC and the CERFLOR since June, 24th, 2005. This is the first round of certification, because the forest certificates have 5 years of validity. The company was the first in Brazil to receive the two stamps through a single audit process.

Forest Management – Audit Scope:

  • FSC: Management of 233.778 hectares of area, within 118.806 hectares Eucalyptus spp, in Minas Gerais for production of round wood for supplying of the pulp mill of the organization.

  • CERFLOR: Forest Management of 233,778 hectares, and 118,806 hectares of Eucalyptus spp plantations, distributed in the regions of Belo Oriente, Ipaba, Nova Era and Guanhães, Minas Gerais.

Chain of Custody – Audit Scope:

  • FSC: Purchasing of eucalyptus logs, production and sales of FSC Pure eucalyptus pulp (under transfer system) and FSC Mixed and FSC Controlled Wodd eucalyptus pulp (under credit system).

  • CERFLOR: Transport of wood from forest management units to the plant and production and sale of eucalyptus pulp, containing at least 70% of wood from the certified unit of forest management.
