Management System Certification of Samarskiye Gorizonty According to ISO 9001:2000
CJSC Samarskiye Gorizonty Research & Production Enterprise was founded in 1996 to develop and implement know-how and technical equipment in oil and gas industry and to render informational and technological support in well drilling. The list of their major customers includes Gazprom, Surgutneftegas, Novatek, Purneftegazgeologuiya, Eurasia, Severneft, TNK-BP, Krasnoleninskneftegaz. Since 2006, the company exports to Ukraine, Kazakhstan and China. At the end of 2008, Samarskiye Gorizonty was successfully certified by SGS according to ISO 9001:2000.
 The certification by SGS gives us evident advantages. 
Our decision regarding Quality Management System implementation at Samarskiye Gorizonty was taken in 2007 with the main objectives to improve company’s efficiency and to raise competitiveness of our products and services.
Having considered proposals of various international certification bodies we opted for SGS. The reputation of SGS among our partners, suppliers and clients was one of the key decisive factors. The fact that there is an SGS representative in Samara has been also quite important since it facilitates communication and speeds up the whole process.
Our consequent relationship with SGS confirmed the accuracy of our choice.
In October 2008, the Quality Management System implemented at Samarskiye Gorizonty was successfully certified by SGS as compliant to the international ISO 9001:2000 standard. The certificate of conformity was issued within UKAS accreditation in four languages: Russian, English, Chinese and Arabic.
During the certification audit SGS experts emphasized both the QMS drawbacks and its strengths, which will be obviously helpful for further improvement of our Quality Management System.
The certification by SGS gives us evident advantages, in particular with regard to efficiency, productivity and competitiveness of the company not only in the Russian market, but also in the international business environment.
