Chile - 08/24/09 Technical Due Diligence for a Pipeline Project in Chile Citigroup contracted SGS to perform technical due diligence in order to ensure the quality and status of their potential investment and to evaluate the technical feasibility of the projected operations of the GasAtacama Pipeline over a period of 14 years. The technical due diligence consisted of 5 phases. In the first phase, the verification of the work’s quality was performed based on the standards of design, construction and inspection established in relevant normative acts. In the following phase, visual inspection of the existence and condition of the gas pipeline, facilities and sites was conducted. In the third phase, SGS experts identified the critical operational control variables to guarantee the delivery of the basic requirements of the ENDESA power station. In the subsequent phase, the economic feasibility of the project was evaluated, and in the last phase, the implications of the breach of contractual critical operational factors were analyzed.
