France - 07/20/09 SGS Industrial Services Carries Out Gamma Radiation Control of Brake Disks for the Rail Industry SGS Industrial Services has been in charge of brake disk testing for IBRE since 1988, carrying out Gamma Radiation Control with Cobalt-60 for their brake disks. The success of this partnership is founded on highly accurate detection and failure analysis methods, as well as on the very quick work of SGS, as the production of brake disks is on hold during the inspection process. On a regular basis, 2 - 3 out of 20 brake disk samples are sent to SGS Industrial Services in order to be tested for defects. The SGS team uses Radiographic Testing to detect imperfections. The team of SGS experts is able to identify defects as well as deduce their causes. Working for more than 20 years for IBRE shows that the company is very pleased with the work of SGS. With SGS’s quick and reliable work, IBRE is able to maintain production quality.
