SGS is pleased to announce that the NSW Office of Fair Trading has now confirmed that electrical goods that have been certified by SGS can be lawfully sold in NSW.

The Joint Accreditation Service of Australia & New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) already accredited SGS Electrical Product Certification Services (EPCS) on 4 May 2004 as a third party certification body to issue either a Certificate of Approval for prescribed electrical equipment that is proven to comply with the requirements of the applicable Australian Standard, or a Certificate of Compliance for non-prescribed electrical equipment that is proven to comply with the requirements of the applicable Australian Standard for which the application has been made, and Energy Safe Victoria approved the EPCS service on 11 November 2005.

This effectively allows SGS to certify electrical goods sold anywhere in Australia.
