SGS OGC have been awarded the six month contract for the laboratory commissioning of the Darwin LNG plant, which is a new plant in its final construction located 60 klm from Darwin CBD.

The owners, ConocoPhillips, also own and operate the offshore facility "Bayu Undan" where SGS OGC have already been manning this laboratory for the past 2 years. Their vision was to build a pipeline linking Darwin for LNG, this has been completed and will be fully operational March 2006.

Contract awarded to SGS was given mid October 2005, with 4 chemist staff to be placed into this facility over the 6 month period.
